The latest adventure in the Blue Horizon production took us to South America in mid October with legendary surfer/writer Derek Hynd. The crew from Australia included DH, his faithful sidekick Dale Egan, Rasta, his lady Hannah, and myself.

It was a real journey in time as we visited a less travelled area with dirt roads, horse and kart travel for the locals, and beautiful rolling hills. The coastline was amazing, with a large supply of unridden points and beach breaks.

Along the way we connected with Kassia Meador, Summer Romero, lifestyle photographer Steve Sherman and locals Dr. Alex Soto and Max Mills, international man of mystery. Together we enjoyed beautiful scenery, fun surf and epic red wines.

Throughout the trip DH and Rasta were constantly going over board design, past, present and future. DH pulled out several fish designs that Rasta rode in the small lefts. It was interesting to notice how he was applying new-school moves on old-school equipment. The fish is a proven design for certain conditions, and although not ideal for where we were, Rasta ripped on the "little bar of soap".

It was a great taste of country soul and our host DH provided a daily dose of fun and laughs, as well as a journey into the past. Thanks to everyone
involved.

Our next stop is Hawaii, where we are going to see if Andy can win his first world title. He's so close he can taste it, but it isn't over till the fat lady sings. Yee haa! We will be covering Andy in his run for the title and we'll keep you up to date with all the behind-the-scenes activities involving

Andy, his brother Bruce, Rasta and the rest of the gang on the North Shore.Till next report,

Aloha  Jack...
