LEGACY LIVES ON!

Over the past twelve months Jack McCoy had been busy working to create the inaugural ‘Jack McCoy Australian Surf Film Fest’ as his legacy piece for the global surf community and to unite the surf industry.

As always with McCoy, his aim was for the festival to become the most prestigious surf film festival in the world with one primary objective:

TO GATHER THE TRIBE & CELEBRATE THE GREATEST SURF FILMS OF ALL TIME!

Prior to passing, McCoy had created his top 20 surf films of all time from each era of surf film making.

Join us to celebrate the founding fathers of the film making industry, right through to the modern day classics.

The Endless Summer II is a 1994 film directed by Bruce Brown and is a sequel to his 1966 classic The Endless Summer. In The Endless Summer II, surfers Pat O'Connell and Robert "Wingnut" Weaver retrace the steps of Mike Hynson and Robert August.

It shows the growth and evolution of the surfing scene since the first film, which presented only classic longboard surfing. O'Connell rides a shortboard, which was developed in the time between the two movies.

The film illustrates how far surfing has spread, with footage of surf sessions in France, South Africa, Costa Rica, Australia, Bali, Java, and even Alaska.

Directed by Kai Neville
